I will ask around to see if we can arrange to video the two one hour sessions. If that's possible, I will certainly work on getting it cut/edited and put up on to an appropriate web site. I will be using slides to illustrate the sessions, but inevitably all the info won't be on the slides (committing an audience to death by powerpoint is not a good idea). If I have time before the event, I may be able to work up appropriate lecture notes - but I think that's unlikely as I am pretty busy with the approaching end of the academic year. However, after the even (such as over Christmas - particularly if our wet weather continues and I am forced to stay earthbound) I may well be able to work things up into a set of notes. I hope to see at least some of you on 2 November! -- Robert Hart [email protected] +61 (0)438 385 533 http://www.hart.wattle.id.au ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Wed, 20 Oct 2010 18:29:45 +1000 From: Robert Hart <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Aus-soaring] GQ Lecture on 2 November 2010 To: [email protected], "Discussion of issues relating to Soaring in Australia." <[email protected]> Cc: aus Soaring <[email protected]>, cgc list <[email protected]>, DDSC Chat <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Hi folks Many thanks for all the kind and encouraging things you have said - I now just have to live up to the expectations! I can't find anything I need. Can someone point the way for me - where are the current National Competition Rules? However, we can access the old one for now, but it hasn't been updated since the new one went live. I was told 5 weeks ago that the problems were fixed, but still no sign of having these made available. you can get at the old site on http://2009.gfa.org.au - rules are here: http://2009.gfa.org.au/Docs/sport/competition/AustralianNationalsRules.pdf Matt On 21/10/2010, at 10:31 , Dave Shorter wrote: > I don?t like criticizing the efforts of people to make improvements, but I must say that the latest website for GFA is absolutely impossible. When I couldn't find something I rang the office which is unfortunately a waste of time and their resources. Hope the problems will be fixed soon -Cath On 21/10/2010, at 10:24 AM, Matthew Gage wrote: Dave, it's even worse for us using a mac - we can't access ANYTHING on the new web site - none of the links work (if you can work out what the menu is meant to be because it looks a mess).
