Yes, the motor was on although at idle, there wasn't much wind so the
ridge wouldn't have held us up and we only did one run north to south.
We were on the way back to Gawler from Pt Pirie, toward the end of the
day. That's why the shadows were so long and the light so orange in
the Hamley Bridge photo.
So we started off highish but weren't terribly high above the terrain
when taking piccies of the last few wind turbines, quite close in
fact.
But what you don't see in the pictures of the turbines is that
immediately to the right the terrain falls away about 800 feet to
extensive flat land and paddocks (and indeed the remains of the old
Adelaide Uni GC were still just visible then too). Not the lowest I
have been on that ridge in the past (I'm sure the same for Michael T
and others reading).
