Hi all,

The 2010 / 2011 (so far) soaring season has presented many different
challenges to glider pilots across our great country. The weather God ('s)
need to explain.

To those in the seriously flood affected parts - particularly in Queensland
and Victoria - our sympathy. Our (the rest of the gliding community)
thoughts I am sure are with you all. (It currently seems so bizarre that
many parts of our country are "water logged" - but soon we will see the
best flush of the Murray - Darling Basin system seen in the last 20+ years.

At Waikerie, we have enjoyed a mediocre (weather wise) gliding season, which
since November 2010 has included the 2010 SA State Comps (won by Terry
Cubley), the national 2010 Junior Gliding Championship which were
transferred from Narromine at short notice) (and which was won by Andrew
Maddocks - and enjoyed by everyone (I had a blast) (thanks to Neville,
Grant, Gus, Adam and everyone who participated), the SAGA Coaching Week and
the 2011 SA State Comps (which was won by Graeme Parker).

A long winded route to thanks - to Joy and Tim Shirley who (remotely) scored
the SA 2010 and 2011 State Comps - so efficiently, effectively and with NO
drama. Our sincere thanks to Joy and Tim.

Lets trust the seriously bad weather is now behind us - that those badly
affected can soon get back to normal (certainly our best wishes are with
you) and that gliding weather conditions return to "normal".

Thanks Joy and Tim.

With the very best wishes from members of Waikerie Gliding Club

John Hudson

President.

Waikerie Gliding Club.
