A WANDILIGONG man was injured after a glider crash at the Porepunkah airfield
on Saturday.
Leading Sen-Constable Tony Finlaw, of Bright police, said the 63-year-old’s
self-launching sail plane had struck a fence while he tried to land about
3.20pm.

“The impact caused the plastic glass over the cockpit to shatter in the pilot’s
face,” he said.

“He had multiple facial injuries.”

Sen-Constable Finlaw said the man had managed to drive himself to Bright
hospital, where he was transferred to Albury for surgery.
