Dinosaurs were the most successful animals on the planet for something like 130 million years, and were wiped out by a cosmic accident.
Humans have been running the show for a couple of thousand years at most and we are well on the way to stuffing up the whole thing all by ourselves. I prefer not to use the term dinosaur to describe something that was unsuccessful, because in fact they were the opposite. Perhaps when we reach the 200 million anniversary and there is some way to go - well have something to boast about. And in respect of the new Executive Officer I welcome him and wish him well in what will prove to be a challenging role. As should we all.
