Over a period of time I have seen some pretty average fuel hoses used in
motorgliders. One hose I have to say is excellent is Aeroquip FC332-4 (for
1/4 inch -blue colour) and can easily be found on ebay for $20/m plus
delivery overnight (during Brisbane floods and all) and can be used in most
situations in both 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines. It does not have fire
sleeving but you can always add same or I have an excellent method of adding
same if you think it necessary (please ask). Also I like using the pig tail
clips and crimping tool rather than hose clamps are the only way to go.

Today Bernard Eckey told me finally the German makers of motorgliders have
waken up to them selves and no longer use that so called "clear" fuel hose
that they have used for years. Finally the new motorgliders coming into Aus
may have decent fuel lines and hopefully no more fuel line problems (fires
and deaths).

Also I should say to all that it may seem to some on Aus soaring I was a bit
negative in Schleicher gliders- this was certainly not intended. I do say
to all in gliding check out all options be it Ventus2, LS8/10 ASG29 or JS1
and the same with varios be it LX9000, Clearnav navigator and the new vario,
Borgelt and Cambridge. You are mad if you are a buyer do not check out all
options available. I also suggest you talk to various users to see what
they think. I can say the installation of instruments is critical and time
after time I find crap installation (both wire/fuse and tubing) is the
problem. And I have to say even the German factories are not perfect.

Hope this is useful
