To add to the complexity of the emergent world, as sizeable numbers of electric vehicles (including powered sailplanes) plug into mains distribution; then the current pesky waste (J tariff in South Australia) of night time excess generation gets buffered into the UPS capacity these vehicles represent. Just as at present renewables sell from home back to the grid, so at-home electric vehicles (plugged in at the hangar for the purposes of this list) get to buy low/sell high as utilities use the buffer import/export to balance transmission. Not surprisingly the geeks call this V2G.
