Plan to make street one-way thwarted by glider hitch
Plans to make a street near a Dundee primary school one-way have been put on
hold - because a resident is worried about how he will get his glider out of
his drive.

Councillors were told of the delay on Monday night when being asked to approve
a package of road safety measures being introduced for the move of Eastern
Primary School from its home at Whinnybrae to the former Grove Academy building.
It includes making the narrow section of Seafield Road one-way, but a resident
has raised a formal objection and more time is needed to carry out negotiations.

The man stores gliders on his property and has to manoeuvre them out of his
drive into the street in trailers.

Councillors heard officials were looking at how this could still be done once
the change is made.

Councillors also approved a £150,000 package of road safety measures in various
parts of the city, including at Pitkerro Road near Morgan Academy.
