G'day all, yes, it was certainly unedited by any glider pilot. Ben Stubbs is a local Cooma photo-journalist, a cheerful young man who seemed to enjoy his flight, even though he got a bit disoriented at one stage, viewing the world through the lens of his SLR inflight. The red and yellow knob briefing was on the ground, and we didn't stall even though he was a bit enthusiastic with back elevator pressure at one stage... My father was RAF, not RAAF. As for the wind misconception, it was near calm when we flew, and I explained how we use our senses, visual attitude and wind noise, to manage attitude and airspeed. The editor obviously converted speeds and altitudes from knots and feet to kph and metres. I am no Maverick, more of a Ding Duck as per my favourite flying cap. ;-P
I hope this has benefits, not just for our club, but the wider gliding movement . Drew On 23/07/2011, at 6:26 PM, <[email protected]> <[email protected]> wrote: > Some good publicity here!
