Reminds me of the old days at Camden airport with Southern Cross Gliding Club. The "Department" was always threatening to boot SCGC out of Camden. Through a pretty determined effort they have managed to stay there and now they are regarded as an intrinsic and desirable part of the Camden aviation scene and no longer under threat. Even the new commercial airport owners seem to have left them alone which is a wonderful thing.
