Peter - No but I have checked out there web site - thanks for letting us
know about it.

The emerging problem in this area is to much choice but no standard output
protocol to share

with authorities when required.

Hi John,

I found your club through your website, and want to invite you to try out
our award winning GPS navigation app on behalf of the club!

It runs topographic maps (even without network coverage, and at altitude)
and offers the full range of route navigation features. More importantly, it
offers BuddyBeacon - password protected location sharing from your mobile
phone. Other gliders can follow you using the app, and you can be tracked
from the airfield on computer, or by another mobile. Not only is it great to
record your route details, but makes recovery so much easier on the occasion
where you don't make it back to the runway! Rather than trying to estimate
your location from flight times, or talk-in your team with landmarks, they
can simply follow your location by mobile.

What's more, if you lose mobile coverage at any point in your flight, the
app will keep recording your GPS coordinates, and transmit them as soon as
you get a moment of reception.

If you would like to give it a try, email me with your make of smartphone
within a week, and I'll send you a code to download the ViewRanger app for
free.

To try out the app for free, send me a quick email with the make of your
phone.

Kind Regards,

Dave Hayhurst

Check out the ViewRanger GPS app for smartphones. Trusted by a growing
number of Mountain Rescue teams, it gives you all the functionality of a
handheld GPS, without the price tag. Plus, it can be used with topographic
maps, and real time location sharing with the BuddyBeacon feature.
