Your last supposition is somewhat debatable, given that the image shows the glider in mature growth trees. in this situation my understanding of the general advice is to "land" the glider on the top of the tree canopy as slowly as possible under the prevailing circumstances.Perhaps someone who has actually done it, might like to make comment?
