Lake Keepit is hosting a World Qualifying Grand Prix from 10th to 18th November 2012 and we are just one person off having a full complement of 20 pilots. It should be a great competition.
Pleasingly four of the entrants are foreign pilots, but they require aircraft. All are highly competent pilots. One local pilot is also looking for an aircraft. We have (delicately) approached several 18 meter owners to see if they might hire their gliders to these competitors, but there is a degree of reticence. It would be fantastic for the Australian sport if we could help them out. Enlivening our local competitions with overseas participants will raise the level of competition and enlarge the pool of high performing Australian pilots. It is important if we are to develop our sport. The purpose of this email is to see if there are owners of 18m gliders who would be willing to make them available for the Keepit Grand Prix and if so on what terms.
