I have investigated that near miss as it was one of "my" pilots.
At that time there were three gliders in that area, with transponder
ADSB equiped. Another one, also flying from Corowa not transponder
equiped but he was much lower at that time.
The strange thing is that the Beech pulled up just before the glider
and said on the radio "nice glider". The glider pilot was pretty upset
and shocked.
A few phone calls between pilots, me and someone in charge of Air
Ambluances made me decide to try getting this this into an investigation.
It is not the first time and it won't be the last time.
Air Ambulances fly into CTAFs with 200km/h. I don't think it is any
different on the road. They have to be quick with the patient so they
may feel that they have priority over all other traffic.
