As somebody said it is unlikely you would get a government to remove
requirements for ASICs but just maybe pilots could have it extended to
10yrs like a passport.  This may be a better and more achievable aim.

Pilots with ASIC and are found to be a security risk would be required to
return their current ASIC and face a large fine if they do not. Overseas
"visitor" learning pilots & baggage handlers would still have the current 2
year ASIC. (make baggage handlers & LAMEs get a longer one depending on
years in industry)

Remember CASA reduced the cost or processing class 2 medicals & removed
most of the compliance requirements for small AOC operators with respect to
DAMP (drug & alcohol).  They can change with pressure from pilots &
industry.

That would be my approach.
