Hi Robert, I believe its a gmail characteristic, that you wont see the "reply" from an email sent by gmail to a list. I don't think its specific to mailman as gmail "prevents" the doubling up. (I personally prefer the feedback loop though) If you have replied, you will see it as part of a thread, but if you start a new thread an no-one replies, you would be in the dark. (or possibly check the archive?)
