The early models used the under score to indicate the active chanel and one
had to be very careful to identify which line was indicating this function.
It was near impossible to identify in some circunstances. I asked that this
be changed to the present system where the next frequency is dialled in on
the bottom line the top line is always the active chanel; just like the
established high end TSOd radios. New radios came out with this and old
models could be upgraded when returned for service.
