Subject: Introducing RWY, the EFB for Android
What a good idea.
AvPlan also has an Android version. I just bought Avplan and now that
I've read the manual I'm pretty happy with using it. I used Ozrunways
on the way to Perth and plan on using Avplan on the way home in an
couple of weeks.
Avplan's integration of the flight planning and even filing is great
and they have a more generous licensing policy whereas Ozrunways
costsyou an extra $20 for your backup iPad. I refuse to buy an
iPhone. Bad enough I had to buy an iPad mini.
Also the weather radar on Avplan is overlaid on the chart, unlike
Ozrunways. Nice feature.
Now how about a kilometers option for distance and some turnpoint
sectors as well as final glides, Simon? AvSoar??? I'll provide the
final glide algorithms for free. Good thing is you would get official
data from an approved source for airspace boundaries unlike the
situation with XCSoar. Probably should be Android version.
Ozrunways is a bit easier for a simple GOTO from A to B when you
don't need to file and the HUD is easier to see on iPad minis as it is larger.
Heck I may even renew my Ozrunways anyway in January and have both installed.
