I run a Vertica V2 off the glider power and was getting a lot of RF noise on my
radio from it's 5 volt adaptor. A Hobbyking regulator has solved the problem:

I find the V2 works more reliably running off the flarm gps. XCSoar used to
freeze regularly when using it's internal gps.

Cheers,

Greg.

As i said all very interesting the Vertica that i bought of Mike before the
Avier has now been running for 6 hours and is down to 16%!

I plug my units into the main batteries normally of course but i was just
interested to see for how long after some kind of electrical problem i would
still have a moving map.
I am of course old school enough to wave my WAC chart around in order to still
have a moving map, so no smart replies please!

No way, 2.5 hours is really good for an Avier. I always plug mine into the
mainGlider battery via a 12v to 5v usb converter.

Subject:[Aus-soaring] Avier, oudie,vertica stuff

Guys, I am running a moving map ap (LK8000) on an Avier device. I am only
getting 2.5 hours out of a battery. I remember reading sometime back when i
had the paper work that i should get 12 or more out of the internal battery. Is
this right??

Thanks Ron
