I run a Vertica V2 off the glider power and was getting a lot of RF noise on my radio from it's 5 volt adaptor. A Hobbyking regulator has solved the problem:
http://hobbyking.com.au/hobbyking/store/__4319__turnigy_3a_ubec_w_noise_reduction.html I find the V2 works more reliably running off the flarm gps. XCSoar used to freeze regularly when using it's internal gps. I plug my units into the main batteries normally of course but i was just interested to see for how long after some kind of electrical problem i would still have a moving map. I am of course old school enough to wave my WAC chart around in order to still have a moving map, so no smart replies please! I am only getting 2.5 hours out of a battery. I remember reading sometime back when i had the paper work that i should get 12 or more out of the internal battery. Is this right??
