The new Sporting Code which will be valid from 1/10/2015 is now available at the link below.
All badges and records flown up to and including 30/9/2015 must comply with all aspects of the current version of the Sporting Code, dated 1/10/2014. I have not read the new version yet, but there will be significant changes this year. All Observers must familiarise themselves with this in time for the upcoming summer season. All instructors and coaches are advised to be sure that the advice they give is in accordance with the relevant rules. Pam Records Officer GFA From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of 106025.2661 Sent: Tuesday, 7 July 2015 4:54 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [igc-discuss] Sporting Code, 2015 Edition Friends, The IGC Sporting Code Committee is pleased to announce that the 2015 edition of the Sporting Code for Gliding, Section 3 (SC3) has been published on the FAI website.( http://is.gd/udvSKE ) This edition comes into force on October 1st 2015. It has many changes from the current version and is the result of 3 years work by the committee to simplify the Code and set it out in a more accessible fashion. This has led to some duplication of material with requirements for badges (Chapter 2) being separated from record requirements (Chapter 3). I wish to record my thanks to the members of the committee, especially Tony Burton (Canada) who acted as editor, and who led the discussions. His contribution cannot be too highly stated. There was considerable input from outside the Committee, which was very much appreciated. Ross Macintyre, Chairman, IGC Sporting Code Committee.
