I think there are still a fair number of units out there which may have an issue with the Garmin GPS25-LVC engine issue with a date problem.
The units will still navigate but you can not down load a secure flight. With the model 20 logger it is necessary to fit a new battery INSIDE the GPS engine then reset UTC time and date and lat and long and they should be ok again till guess now 2020 or longer (who knows). This unit CAN NOT have the newer GPS15xL-W engine. I have done it seems 28 of these units so far. With the cambridge 302 vario/logger the fix is to fit a new much faster Garmin GPS15xL-W engine and there is a resistor and a diode to be added. The dates you will see is either 1995 or 2005 when you check the lat/long UTC time &date which is a few clicks to the left on the displays (one page before satellite page) Please make contact if you feel you are effected as would like to get them sorted our now rather than in Spring..
