It is worth knowing that fibre is more "dynamic" than other underground
services, in that it is not unusual for adds/moves/changes to occur within
the lifecycle of a cable, joint or customer.

There are a number of providers who will pitch that their
Oil/Gas/Pipeline/Electrical/Rail software is suitable for
telecommunications, but unless you are planning on building a network that
is static forever these may not be suitable.
