Hi All, for the past couple of days we have been chasing poor upload speeds
from a number of our Telstra EA Services in some areas of Sydney.
We have now determined after significant testing that it looks like we are
seeing packet loss on some of these links within the Telstra network.

We logged a fault on one service and were told there was no packet loss, so
kept looking on our side.
We have ruled out the AGG port as some other services are working fine on that,
same with the switch they come into, and we have terminated services onto other
routers in the DC and still seen the issue.
We have rebuilt interfaces where possible to no avail as well.

The only thing we are thinking is that perhaps they rolled out some config
changes to NTU's or something which has had an impact that they haven't
realised as we have so exhausted everything on our network, so I thought it was
worth posting on the list to just ask if anybody else has been seeing any
issues on any of these types of services this week.

We can noticeably see a drop in inbound traffic from these connections into our
network on our management graphs, and users are complaining of slow uploads,
downloads seem to be fine though.

The larger the packet size the more loss we see.

We have checked MTU etc, no changes have been made on our network during this
time either.

If you have seen any issues like this during this week please let me know, this
is one of those issues that just does your head in !

Thanks
Paul
