I'm also one to say just do it. If I can run BIND at home and have that fully compliant and be aware of whats happening while being a full time non IT uni student over 50, and look after a disabled wife, I would have to question the competence of people with BIND or other DNS servers that have not done anything in the business world. It would at least be a wakeup call to ensure procedures and information flow are up to date.
Someone is not doing what they were employed to do, or someone needs to be employed or contracted to ensure software is up to date. The information is not hard to find, or notice and even making older versions of DNS server software with keys current is not that hard to do. If people are not prepared now I cant see many more people being prepared further down the line, it's human nature. Do the push..
