Has anyone on here had experience working with police departments and assisting with cybercrime investigations with free email providers?
I've assisted with required information on behalf of a client in relation to accounts that have been compromised, however was just told by the detective, the IP information can't be investigated/looked up by the telco's in question as there is no seconds in the timestamps. The information from the providers only offers HH:MM (hotmail / google - both the same) and telco's wont proceed with any lookup without the :ss available on the timestamp.. Surely not?
