Yes of course they peer at the peering points but the point I was making to get to Telstra, Optus, AAPT, iiNet, Foxtel, Belong (Those ISPs connect the vast amount of consumers) the traffic has to go overseas first. Also take into account the ISP's that filter them out as it caused traffic to TPG to go via the USA for example
