01/08/2021 09:28 - Possible fibre cut around Perth, Western Australia

  *   02/08/2021 08:10 AEST- ETR to be confirmed. Further updates to be 
provided when available.
  *   01/08/2021 18:00 AEST- Please be advised that the Transmission and 
unprotected Ethernet services traversing the impacted link are currently down. 
Protected Ethernet services have switched to another path and will experience 
increased latency. IP Transit and Internet customers can expect to see 
increased latency towards Asian destinations. Vocus engineers are waiting for 
local approval and permits in order to repair the cable. ETR currently 
unconfirmed. Another update will be provided once the cable repair permits have 
been obtained
  *   01/08/2021 13:48 AEST- The fault has been confirmed as Australia 
Singapore Cable (ASC) cut located about 18km from Perth Landing station. Cable 
repair ship is being engaged. ETR currently unconfirmed. Further updates will 
be provided within the next 4 hrs.
  *   01/08/2021 13:02 AEST- Vocus Technicians arrived on site and identified 
the outage is due to a fibre break.
Our teams are currently working to resolve the issue. An ETR will be provided 
once available. Further updates will be provided within the next 2 hours.
  *   01/08/2021 11:29 AEST- Vocus Technicians remain en-route to the site. ETA 
is 12 PM AEST. Further updates will be provided within the next 2 hours.
  *   01/08/2021 09:28 AEST- We have observed a possible fibre break around 
Perth, Western Australia. Vocus Technicians have been engaged to attend site. 
An ETR will be provided once our initial investigation is complete. Further 
updates will be provided within the next 2 hours .
