I guess the days of exchanges being built with enough
battery/generator backup *and being regularly tested* went away at
some point in the past.Probably when the focus of our lives moved from
POTS to being all IP, but likely before that.

While it's probably not fair to blame Vocus for this one - being it's
a third party exchange (hi Telstra!), there should definitely be more
focus on risk management in regard to power on critical infrastructure
than there is.
