If Telstra had had 5 Stratacom NTP servers

I'm just a tiny hick from BFN, I run nine and have done for 20+ years.
I run multiple geographically diverse GPS-derived sources which I guess are technically called stratum-1 but are they?

Anyway, I monitor all the times on all my boxes and alarm if ANY of them drift more than a few milliseconds.

Do I need it? Almost certainly not.
So why do I do it that way? Well, "why not?".

I'm not pointing the bone at 'T', but it's not like it's a crippling cost to maintain a "non-trivial" number of stratum 1 or trusted stratum 2 time sources. </opinion>
