HI Cameron,
New from across the ditch - the NZ Govt are currently consulting on
their Open Source Policy.
You can look over the policy draft that was released earlier this month
at:

They are already underway with discussions and consensus building on
improvements to the initial draft over at:

It would also be great if you could share that this process is under way
among any of your tech industry friends in NZ and other contacts that
might have an interest. I'm aiming to ensure we get the best
representation of perspectives. Feel free to post the above links
