Not sure which of the many possibilities you're asking about, so I'll mention several. We index our books by embedding index entries into the ODT files and then compiling the index; all of this is done with Writer's indexing tools. If you are not familiar with them, Chapter 12 of the Writer Guide explains how to use them. You can get it in ODT or PDF from here: http://www.oooauthors.org/english/userguide3/writer3/wg3.2-published To index a chapter, you need to pick one that is on the Review List (so you know that no one else is editing it), "retract" it, then download it and work on it. Rename it and upload it to the Feedback folder for that book when you're done. Details on how to do all those things are linked from the first page of the English section of the website. Ask questions if you need help (everyone has questions, especially at first), and I hope someone else will answer fairly quickly since I probably won't be available for quick responses until the end of the month. And the more specific the question, the better for getting a useful reply. As for which book to work on, most of the Calc Guide chapters have few or no index entries already in them. Draw Guide chapters mostly have some existing entries (carried over from the v2.x version of the book) which may be incomplete or incorrect for v3.x. Impress Guide chapters have some existing index entries. (Getting Started and Writer Guide have been published, so we won't update their index entries until the next round of updates.) --Jean --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
