Hi, my name is Fotis Gkouzkouris.
I want to help with OpenOffice.org documentation.
I am Greek so my primary focus is to help the documentation in Greek
language.
That doesn't mean that I can not help with English documentation. My English
writing skills are very good.
Hope hearing from you soon,
Best regards,
Fotis
Hi Fotis.
Sorry I missed your message earlier. It has been busy lately.
As I said to Katrise, things are a little quiet right now... a lot of us
are into our summer vacation period :-)
The work that is on-going is discussed here on the mailing list. Take a
look at one of the "published" guides on
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation to get a feel for
how the different components to OOo are being documented.
The Calc guide was recently published, and the Wiki version needs to be
updated to reflect that. The Draw guide is in the middle of being
indexed, the Base guide is being reviewed, and the Writer guide needs a
review as well, looking for things that need updating to the latest OOo
release. Other work that is in progress is reviewing and correcting the
FAQ (on the Wiki).
There is a lot going on... you just have to pick something that's
interesting to you, and ask the list. The people working on that bit
will be able to tell you what/where/when.
If you want to work on translations, then please co-ordinate with the
Greek community (start here: http://el.openoffice.org/ ). They will no
doubt be quite happy to have some help. On translations, there are
three areas that are important... translating the user interface (menus,
dialogs, etc.), translating the application help (what you get when you
press F1 in OOo), and translating the user documentation to/from Greek.
