Check Format>Page. You will notice that it is set for paper size A4,
which is slightly larger than Letter size.
For your own use change it, but when working on the documents leave the
size as is. Jean has the size set to help with publishing the final
documents. If you change it then the everything else will change,
figures and page numbers are but two of these.
