I would opt for that, simply because people do understand it.

In more than one instance, when I've told peopel I created a
Spreadsheet in OOo, they thought I meant I wrote the spreadsheet
component., not  created a workbook, or worksheet.

It is when they have seen teh Excel formatted version that they say:
"Oh, you mean you wrote a worksheet!", or _very_ rarely: "Oh, you mean
you wrote a workbook!"

I don't use Calc much, but when I do, it either is for abusing it
beyond recognition, or to create an Excel Workbook for somebody else.

[Who else knew that Calc could function as Project Manager.]
