This is part of my plan to include in _Getting Started_ an introductory chapter on each of the components of OOo (Writer, Calc, Base, Draw, Impress, Math). In some cases the intro chapter will be the same as the first chapter in the full user guide for that component; in other cases the intro chapter may have somewhat different contents. For example, the GS chapter on Writer will have some info from each of the first two chapters in the Writer Guide.
It just happened that a draft of the "intro to data sources" chapter for the GS book has been written before any of the chapters of the Database Guide have reached the stage of being done enough to put on the website.
When the Database Guide is written, then someone should be able to find introductory info in there as well as in the GS book.
