What is the best way to proceed now, since the v2 template seems to be updated quite soon (new licence and other changes) and we have not heard from Vincenzo Ponzi yet. Use the current v2 template and make a new chapter of that or take the old v1 chapter and change that one instead?
Don't do anything about changing the template. Just copy the existing file, rename it, and work on the content and the screenshots. When the new template is ready, then you can move the contents into it.
In thsi document there is a part "Using invisible tables" that describes how to use invisible table as a tool to page layout. First I want to rename it to something like "Using tables in page layout", secondly is it this section which shall be moved into "Formatting pages" chapter mentioned in the Writer Guide outline
