I'd be more than happy to help out with the migration stuff. I have absolutely no idea what that entails (a tad foolish to commit to a job without checking what is involved, I know *g*) so someone would need to run me through exactly what needs done (or point me in the direction of a guide which may be lurking on the OOo Authors site (I haven't checked)).

If you want to migrate an existing chapter from the old template to the new template, please liaise with Daniel to make sure you are not working on the same files. When he gets back from wherever he's gone, he'll see this note and get in touch with you.

However, I have another suggestion. Read on....

I'd even have a bash at writing a chapter, only I have no idea what chapters would be required; if there's anything that needs done I could maybe have a go at it.

Would you like to try updating an existing OOo 1.X chapter to OOo 2.0? I have a few here that you could do, and that would be a great help. It's not as difficult as writing a completely new chapter.

I suggest starting with "Working with Templates" in the Writer Guide. Paul Miller was going to do that, but he recently said he has no time now that the university year has started again. So if you'd like to take it on, please do. The V1 file is here:
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide1/publisheddocs/working_with_templates.sxw/

Here is what needs to be done:
1) Move the chapter into the new template, using the instructions on this page:
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/index_html

2) Check the text against OOoV2 to see if anything has changed. Often the changes are subtle, like the names of fields or menu items.

3) Take all new screenshots using OOoV2.

Have fun! And be sure to ask questions if you're not sure about something.

Regards, Jean
