How do you prefer the reviews to be written. Do you make changes to the actual document or do you want a separate document with the changes and ideas for the areas we have suggestions with.

Also if we make changes to the original text do we make it a different font or otherwise distinguish it from the original text?
Hi Richard,

1. Open the original document, and save it as a new file, with your initials appended to the base of the original file name.

2. On the Edit menu, click Changes > Record. This causes OOo to record all of your changes to the document. You can opt to display the changes or not (Edit > Changes > Show); if you turn them on, your additions are displayed in a different color, and deletions are displayed in color with strike-through. Many people turn this off while they're editing because it can be confusing to see all the mark-up; the maintainer will turn it on so they can see what you've changed and decide whether to accept each change.

3. If you have a comment about something, but not a specific change to the text, use a note (Insert > Note). This keeps commentary separate from mark-up.

4. When you're done, upload the file as described on the website (http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/resources/howto_upload), and send an email to the list to notify the maintainer.

Sorry that the website instructions don't make this clear. I'll see about updating them.

I thought the instructions on this page
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/resources/howto_review#review
were quite clear, but I have just made a minor rewording (putting your step 1 into the existing instructions and copying the info about file naming conventions to that step).

That page is linked from http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/contribute#review to which I have also made a minor modification which I hope will help point new reviewers to the page of more detailed instructions.

Regards, Jean
