Alan,
The section on "Setting a custom template at the default" states that a template must be in the Default folder in order to be set as the default template. In OOo 2.0, the name of the Default folder has changed to "My Templates". Further, it appears that a template can now be set as the default without being in that folder (as long as it is under OOo's template management). I was able to create a new folder, save a template into it, and then set that template as the default template.
I will modify that section to reflect this new information before publishing it. Otherwise, the chapter looks very good, just a few minor edits.
