Also, the whole like second half of his articles, about inserting charts, is pretty much covered in the chapter Linda (I think) wrote about inserting charts in Excel. In the chapter, I added an explanation of just about every chart type there is.
The charts section was pulled out of that chapter long before it was published for V1. Sounds like you have a very old, pre-publication version, Peter.

I put the charts stuff into what was then the Common Features guide (for V1) and it has now been dropped completely. As you note, the subject is now covered in the Calc Guide
HTH, let me know what I can do to help. On my tips page, I have some info about anchoring that I got from the users list if it helps in explaining it, as that is probably the most important part of the chapter. :)
Half of the existing published V1 chapter (anchoring etc) was written by me. Which is not to say that it can't be improved. :-)
