Have we discussed a document about accessibility features at all?

I just read a message on users that someone who was blind bailed on OOo 1.9.79 because of no accessibility features. GRS said they are there, so maybe we need to help people find them.

OOo definitely has accessibility features. Look in the V2 Help under "Assistive Tools in OpenOffice.org". However, those tools might not be what that person needed (such as a way to hook up OOo to whatever assistive technology that person already has).

I will add a bit more information to the chapter on "Setting up OOo" in the Getting Started book, but a more thorough development of the topic will take some research. I belong to an accessibility group whose members might be interested in following up on this.

I have several blind friends, so this is a subject of considerable interest to me. A document on the topic is, IMO, a very good idea, but one to pursue after we finish the user guides for the V2 release.

Thanks, Peter, for the reminder and the nudge to pursue this!

Cheers, Jean
