Hi Colin,
Which "beta 2 guide" are you reading?

A pdf file downloaded on 31-Jul-05 - Size on Disk: 7.49 MB (7,856,128 bytes). OpenOffice.org User Guide for Version 2.x.
[OpenOffice.org User Guide]
[0.2]
First edition: [2005-04-11]
First English edition: [2005-04-11]

The one from the Documentation website (user_guide_draft.pdf) or the Getting Started guide from OOoAuthors (0100GS-GettingStarted.pdf) or the draft setup guide, or??

If it's one of those being produced by OOoAuthors, then you have several choices:

1) Download the .sxw for the relevant chapter and follow the process described for Reviewers on this page:

http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/contribute

(You can't get a .sxw file of the whole Getting Started guide, because it is put together using a master document.)

2) Or (esp. if you have only an occasional comment) send a note to the list with your comments in it. In the subject line, put "PING: [name of maintainer]". The maintainer's name is on the copyright page of each chapter, under "Feedback".

This will be my situation initially.

3) On the View page for the chapter, click the Add Comment button and put in your comment there. If you do that, it's still a good idea to send a note to the list, to draw the maintainer's attention to the comment.

Later, perhaps.

Colin W.

Cheers, Jean
