I'm available to do some reviewing in English for the team. I've been an
writer, editor and proofreader for the past 25 years, so I hope I can
add some value. I'm an M$ Office orphan and am new to OOo, but I'm very
impressed with your work. The OOo suite is an extremely viable
alternative to Bill's expensive effort. Let me know how I can help. Cheers.
Welcome! I am one of two editors on this project (the other is
Janet Swisher), and I do a lot of coordination for the
English-language books. Janet edits the Writer Guide, and I try
to keep up with all of the others.
I'll write again later today with some specific suggestions on
how you can help. For now, here's my general introductory note.
First, join OOoAuthors and send your username to the list so one
of the managers can grant you the "author" role, so you can
access parts of the website that are not otherwise available.
Meanwhile, you can read these two pages for instructions on how
to join and background information on how we do things:
http://oooauthors.org/en/index_html
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/resources/howto_review
The second one has links to useful how-tos on retracting a file,
naming conventions, and uploading a file.
Do read the style guide and "Writing OOo Guides", and you might
also like to browse through some of the published chapters to get
a feel for the writing and presentation style we have chosen.
