Welcome, Ingo! I've given you the Author role so you now can
upload files and so some other things on the website. Our site
takes a bit of getting used to, but it's much easier to use than
the main OOo site, and you can get plenty of help from the
members of this list.
BTW, I am the main editor here, which means I do a lot of
coordination and I'm responsible for publishing chapters of all
the books except the Writer Guide. Janet Swisher is the editor
and publisher for the Writer Guide.
OOoAuthors has a peer review system, which means that lots of
people review and edit chapters. When the author and reviewers
think a chapter is ready for publishing, then Janet or I get
involved.
To begin, please read these pages and follow the links to more
information (including the writers' guide and the style guide).

We suggest that new members do some reviewing. Usually I would
say "pick something from the review list on the home page", but
there is only one item on the list and it's from the Calc guide,
so I have a slightly different suggestion for you... and this is
something you can do that will be really, really helpful.
A top priority right now is to check the published chapters
against the latest beta of the OOo V2 software. For instructions,
see the section "Checking Published Chapters Against the
Software" on this page:

How about doing any of the published chapters from the Writer
Guide? Would that suit you?
And don't feel shy about asking questions if you're not sure what
to do.
Once again, welcome aboard! We're really glad to have you here.
Cheers, Jean
