Here is the situation:

I have a 5 000 page document currently split into 33 sections of a
master document.

In theory, every two weeks I distribute an updated version of that document. However, different people get different versions of the document. * Some people get some sections, but not others; * Some people get some sub-sections, but not other sub-sections.

three.]

Can I get the first heading of a Masterdocument section , to number at
the fourth or fifth level? [EG: "1.2.3.4: some stupid fourth level
heading" to be the first, and perhaps only heading in section.]

Jonathan,

I don't think it's possible to do what you want (if I understand your requirements correctly).

I wonder if any of our macro gurus could figure out a way to do it? Sounds like something that many people would find very useful.
