All the literature I have seen so far describe how to insert notes into a slide show. They also state that the audience will not see these notes unless a handout of the slide show is printed and given to them. How does the presenter see these notes during a slide show? What purpose do these notes serve other than for handouts?
I have even read the Star Office 7.0 Impress Users Guide. It has not information on this point. Is this a question that should be sent to the developers?

I vaguely recall a conversation (possibly on the [users] list) some time ago about this very problem, the fact that OOo has no mechanism allowing the presenter to see the notes onscreen during a slide show. I believe that an issue (enhancement request) has been raised on this, but I don't have the issue number.

Yeah this is a pretty important feature if you ask me. It could be added to the Navigator that is shown during presentation if nothing else.  I cannot find an enhancement request for this which is shocking. The only issues I have found deal with PDF exports:

Here is the link to my search if this helps you any.

I think it is probably in there somewhere. Maybe the title of the enhancement or feature just doesn't have "notes" listed which it should.  I will keep looking as well to see if this has ever been submitted and if not one of us should submit this as a much needed feature.
