have formatted things correctly? I tried to add things to my author

indeed. I placed the latest copy here:

Hello Andrew,
It's great to see you here again! Your macros chapter was such a
valuable addition to the Getting Started guide, and I know
anything else you can give us will be equally welcome.
Thanks...
I took a very quick look at this chapter. It appears that you have
done all but a few minor formatting things correctly. Good job! A few
uses of italics and bold are not in the style we use for the user
guides, but as this is going to be a how-to, that doesn't matter.
Thanks Jean. I am doomed to repeated my errors until I figure out what
they are...
I'll look it over carefully as soon as I can. I'll be out most of
today, and there are two chapters in my work queue ahead of yours, so
it might be a day or two before I get to it. I'll also try to figure
out why you got an error at the OOoAuthors site.
I thought that to add the documents, I needed to choose to add an
OODocument. This always causes a 404 error. I played around with this
until I figured out how to add a document. Also, I understand the
importance of the other documents.
Meanwhile, I created a folder for user how-tos here:
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/user_howtos/
Thanks, I figured out how to do it.
You can upload your document to that area. I would do it myself, but
I'm out of time and this dial-up line is soooo slooooow.
No need. It is important that I learn how to do this. I fought with it
many times. I think that it is probably easy, I just need to figure it
out...
Cheers, Jean
Eventually, I might shoot for a new book for release here, or simply add
a few chapters to an existing book.
Thanks Jean.
