I've made some minor changes in the Getting Started book, and
lots of chapters have been revised since the last time I put
together a full PDF of the Writer Guide, so I've now regenerated
the full GS and WG books. They (and all the individual chapters)
are on the OOoAuthors site and the OOo Documentation Project's site.
As people keep checking the chapters and finding things that need
changing, I'll keep updating things. Also some chapters are being
revised to improve them (for example, the chapter on Impress in
the GS book), and I suspect we'll all keep finding topics to add
to existing chapters. Most of the suggestions I have collected so
far are on my "enhancements" list; when I have time I'll
summarise that list and post it on the website so others can
comment or offer to write the bits that need to be added or changed.
I think our first priority is to finish the other books. I know
that people are working on them, and I'm looking forward to
seeing chapters on the review list and piling up in my to-do list
for publishing. ;-)
BTW, I'll be mostly out of touch for the next week, though I hope
to be able to receive and send email at least once a day. I won't
have a chance to give Author status to any new members, so one of
the other admins will take care of that.
Lastly, a big welcome to all the recent new members of the list,
on both the English and German teams! There are plenty of people
here to answer any questions you may have, in my absence.
