I have a problem, I can't seem to upload an OOo file as an OOo file to the nl area

Short answer: please use "File" instead of "OODocument".

Long answer:
The "OODocument" option is a plugin that tries to give features for OOo files. We used it in the first version of our site, but we had some problems and at the end we decided it wasn't worth the hassle. In particular, it made the site much slower because it tried to render the OOo file as HTML on the browser. This is the main feature that this plugin is supposed to offer, and we decided that it wasn't worth the slowdown. So we decided to use the "File" type instead.

Later on, when we moved to a new server at Enthought, we didn't bother to install the OODocument plugin. But the "OODocument" option is still on the menu because we still have some old files (user guide v1) using that file type. One of these days I want to update those chapters to the "File" type and remove "OODocument" from the menu. This is part of my never-ending to-do list :(

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hola Daniel,

It's good to know I discovered the work-around on my own. It's only after seeing an editor window with gibberish in it that I though I must have been doing something wrong.
I see what you mean with never ending to-do lists. I hate them too.

Hasta luego,

Jo
