Sorry for my absence time for OOo has been nill for me since September. I was catching up on my OOo mail, and I didn't see the resulst of the plone poll which I beleive ended on 12/5 about moving the list. Is it moving?

I don't want to miss the subscription period.

Welcome back, Peter! We've missed you.

The results of the poll to decide whether the "authors" mailing list should move to the oooauthors.org server was 13 votes in favor and 5 votes against.

The next step is to start getting the migration issues worked out (e.g., list archives). AFAIK, no one has taken the time to do much work on this, as it wasn't an urgent topic and the holiday season distracted us.

At the time of the poll, we noted that if after the holidays the majority still liked the idea of moving, we can move then. So, sometime in the new year, we'll be revisiting the question of moving. News will be posted on the front page of the English-language section of the website, as well as being mentioned on this list.

Cheers, Jean

Being essentially a lurker, I abstain from expressing
any opinion on the move.

Please summarize the reasons for moving this list.
Please make the transition as easy as possible
from the end user's point of view.

Note that IMHO re-registering is reasonable.

Thanks,
David
